Now with pictures

This is the dining room in all of its green glory. And a gratuitous shot of the kidlets in their Halloween costumes. Please disregard the crazy hallway mess, it is mostly furniture, curtains, and odds and ends from the parlor, and assorted junk which collects on tables that are being ignored.

There were supposed to be a couple more shots from the other direction but it seems that the camera battery went belly up.

I have been perusing Pinterest and getting a few ideas. I have got to be careful of that site, I could spend all day there! Anyway... feed back much appreciated. Even if it is only "My g-d those are some butt ugly '70s chairs you've got there!" (yes, they are, and wickedly uncomfortable to boot).

  1. Go gray! We are painting the nursery gray with white trim. We're going to use light yellow accents but teal also works well. I bought six samples of gray paint and decided on Martha Stewart's Chinchilla.

  3. Gray would be classy. It might be a little cold in here with so little natural light.

  4. Our diningroom is gray and I love it. My china set is black & white with some yellow so I thought gray would go well. It is a neautral color so it was easy to find curtains and other decorations. I have a hard time committing to a "color" in fear I wll get sick of it. Let us know what you decide on!

  6. The chairs actually don't bother me. I was thinking gray too before I read the other comments. And a really cool chandelier?

Your kids are so dang cute in their costumes!
And most importantly...have you heard about your beta?!?

  7. so first thing I thought was gray but is that consistent with the rest of your house or alternatively what about wall paper? you could do it to the chair lines? just a thought. there are so many lovely new types of wall paper these days. imagine some lovely upholstered chairs and a new chandelier hanging from the roof and you could re render the fireplace as well. this room has so so much potential. I am very envious!
